My Art Car
Of all the things I own, the one that influences who I am the most is my Taxi.

She's not a real Taxi. She never was. When I bought her she was orange and white.
I bought her in Valhalla, New York in 2002 and when I moved back to Texas I had the idea to turn her into a souvenir. Here is the original drawing I did:
The yellow color is Sunburst Yellow by Rustoleum. I got the checkered stripes from a company that makes graphics for race cars.
The sign on the top has since been replaced with a cylindrical one I got on eBay and had a local mechanic wire up to a switch. It works great! The only thing is, if it ever burns out, I have no idea how to replace the bulb.
She is covered in quotes and autographs. So far, I have gathered quotes in English (US and UK), Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Hindi, Greek, Arabic, Romanian, and Perl. I have gathered autographs from Tim Klein, Emily Duffy, Harrod Blank, Hunter Mann, and Marilyn Root (who took the photograph above in 2004 - that's her Cloud Car behind the Taxi.)
The inside is covered in pins and magnets. (photo forthcoming)
The original AM radio still works, but I have a secondary system that plugs into my iPod. (need photo)
